Hola! My name is Anna Smith. This blog, BeLittleandLove, is my vehicle for sharing my journey as a missionary at Finca de los Ninos (Farm of the Child). The Farm of the Child is an Catholic home, clinic, and school for orphans and at-risk children in Honduras. God has generously invited me to say yes to eighteen months of service at la Finca! For me, this is not a dramatic decision, but rather a "going deeper" into the amazing calling God has given me to serve youth, particularly those who have suffered because of poverty or neglect. Five years ago, I first encountered the joyful, incredible community of la Finca while on a brief college mission trip. Since then, God has kept the idea of returning as a small whisper in my heart. Over the past year, this call has increased in intensity to the point where I know God is truly inviting me, calling me by name. Still, I know how easily is get caught up in my own desire to do great things, only to crash to earth when the going gets tough and I realize my own inadequacy. Thus the theme of this blog (and my life really) is to to start by recognizing my littleness, my humanity, my need. I will be little so God can carve some actual space in my heart for authentic love.
